Chicken Masala Skewers - Indian Main Dish

Ingredients

  • 500 g Chicken breast (cubed)
    Alternative: tofu
  • 150 g yogurt (for marinade)
    Alternative: vegan yogurt
  • 3 clove Garlic (crushed)
  • 1 tbsp Fresh ginger (grated)
  • 2 tsp garam masala
  • 1 tsp ground cumin
  • 0.5 tsp Turmeric
  • 1 tsp chilli powder
  • 2 tbsp lemon juice (freshly squeezed)
  • 1 piece red onion (cut into chunks)
  • 1 piece Red bell pepper (cut into chunks)
  • 1 piece Green bell pepper (cut into chunks)
  • 1 tbsp Olive oil (for brushing)

Instructions

  1. Mix yogurt, garlic, ginger, garam masala, cumin, turmeric, chilli powder, and lemon juice to make a marinade.

  2. Toss chicken pieces (or tofu) in the marinade. Cover and refrigerate for at least 20 minutes.

  3. Thread marinated chicken, onion, and peppers onto skewers.

  4. Heat grill to medium-high. Brush skewers with olive oil and grill for 12-15 minutes, turning occasionally, until chicken is cooked through or tofu is golden.

  5. Serve hot with naan or rice and salad.
