Instructions

In a large bowl, mix flour, sugar, salt, and yeast.

Add diced cold butter and rub with fingertips until mixture looks like coarse crumbs.

Pour in cold milk and mix gently until a soft dough forms. Do not overmix.

Place dough on a floured surface and knead lightly for 1-2 minutes.

Roll out dough to 2 cm thickness. Fold it in thirds (like a letter) and roll again. Repeat twice for flakiness.

Cut dough with a round cutter and place on a lined baking tray.

Brush tops with beaten egg (or vegan alternative).

Bake in a preheated oven at 200°C (390°F) for 20-25 minutes until golden brown.
